Sydney Hutong School - Grand Opening Ceremony

On September 23rd Hutong School Sydney had its grand opening. It was a festive occasion with cake, champagne and ribbon cutting! Special guest Josephine Hao was there as one of Hutong School Beijing’s Alumna, she talked about her great experience in Beijing and she has highly recommended theIntensive Chinese Program. She would recommend anyone to join Hutong School and start studying Mandarin. We can’t wait to have new students join us!

Joanne Li 李琼 (Managing Director)





Joanne is a CPA qualified accountant and registered immigration agent in Australia. She completed her master degree in Australia and have been worked in ASX listed company and US global company for over 10 years.

With passion about Chinese culture and Mandarin language, she decided to open Hutong School in Sydney and help more Australian learn mandarin and provide them the key to experience Chinese culture.

Lola Shen 沈若兰 (Office Manager)



Lola got Bachelor of Applied Finance and Master of Professional Accounting in Australia. She also completed translator certificate from NATTI and she is an experienced translator.

She has strong communication and interpersonal skills with extensive customer service experiences.

Jessie Guo 过思婉 (Education Manager)





Jessie graduated from Beijing Sports University with a Bachelor degree of Education. She has taught Mandarin to foreigners at international schools in Beijing for over five years. She specialised in Chinese learning program for Children at community schools in Sydney.



“I am passionate about teaching Mandarin. I love to help my students’ progress from beginners to fluent speakers with confidence.”




Ella Guan 关鑫 (Teacher)



Ella is from Beijing. She graduated from Beijing International Studies University where she majored in Chinese Language and Literature.  After graduating, she worked for a Chinese government department, drafting written material and doing administrative tasks. In 2016, her family and she started a new life in Sydney and since then, she has been studying in the local education system to improve herself. Currently, she is an experienced Chinese language teacher in the Chinese community school in Sydney.

Haotian Li李昊天(Teacher


Haotian graduated from Zhejiang University of Media and Communications with Bachelor Degree of Bilingual Broadcasting. He is now studying master of design in the University of New South Wales. He used to work for a Shanghai-based music radio station as a radio host and Vice China as an editor. He is interested in youth culture, music, art and language.

Susan Pei 裴苏唤 (Teacher)



Susan is an easy-going and extroverted girl. She was born and raised in Changchun, a North-eastern city of China. She has been living in Sydney for 3 years and she is graduated from the University of Sydney with a master degree of Applied Linguistics. She also has Teacher Certification and Mandarin Certificate in China.

Jack Wang 王星凯 (Teacher)


Jack graduated from Renmin University of China with Bachelor Degree of Law. He is good at communicating with people from different backgrounds. He is also taking a lot of community activities, worked at Youth volunteer’s association of school of international studies and teaches other members mandarins as a volunteer.
